Era of Fashion
An Era of Fashion Webster dictionary states that fashion is The make or form of something. The prevailing style during a particular time. Personally, I believe fashion is not Just what you wear but a state of mind. I once read a quote by coco Channel that read, Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safer, the creatures of the commonplace the slaves of the ordinary. This to me said it all.Fashion is about covering the true o and the statement that you want to make on that particular day, weather that statement is bold or casual in sweat blow and a white T. Fashion is not Just what we see everyday in magazines. Fashion is what you make it. During the pre asss through the early to mid-asss fashion vogues such as the mini skirt, maxi skirt, mini dress, the halter neck cat dress, fl ared trousers, empire dresses, high waist banana sears, bell bottoms, army Jackets and Jumpsuits were all t he rage. Two of the more sound known people I believed to represent the asss well was, Affray Facet, who cocked the feathered hairstyle and asss style well for the ladies and Elvis Presley who was well known for unceasingly looking astonish in Jumpsuits showed the boys exactly how to make an outfit look good. In the photos I have chosen to use you will see my Grandparents, my Uncle, my mother and my father. My Grandparents and Uncle have always lived in Tucson, Az as for my mother for most of her spiritedness has lived in Tucson, except with a two year influence from her time spent in California. As for my father he was born and raised in capital of the Bahamas, Bahamas until his college years when he moved to Tucson. The pictures were not taken for a particular reason other than to recover the time my father went to the Pimp Air Show and the time my mother spent visiting Harbor Island. The trends in both hair style and garments are shown. For instance my mother in the black and w hite photograph shows Just how being hip in that time of age would have been represented, which was shown by the mini dress and having hair as big as you could get it to go. The types of clothing shown in my pictures are more on the casual side of everyday life in the U.S. Back in the asss. Because fashion has always reflected its moment in history one could say that clothes mocked their environment. More designers were finally getting the happen to travel. This gave them a chance to see other nations. Viewing other nations meant new colors, textures, materials and ideas. There was now more to fashion than the same old boring prints. What is superfluous about the asss clothing to me are the patterns and the colors. The asss was bold and therefore the colors and shapes of the garments were bigger than life. Personally, it seems to me that living in the asss meant that one could not be shyThis era in time was such a big influence on the world and trends can still be seen in present day. For example, That asss Show, puts forth a capital understanding of the prints, textures, and all around style of the asss. Another show that from time to time will represent the asss is The Rachel Zoe Project. Rachel Zoe is a fashion stylist, who herself every so frequently will show high wasted pants, big earrings, big hair, patterns, and styles from the asss. All in all I believe that the seventies was an amazing and inspiring era. QUESTIONS 1 . Enlightenment and Constitution
understanding and the Constitution The United States is a nation established in 1776 on a set of principles liberty, equality, and self-government. These ideals getd in start up from broad lessons of history, from the colonist, and treatises such as those of Locke and Rousseau. Liberty is a principle that individuals should be free to act and think as they choose, as long as their actions acquiret infringe on the rights and freedoms of others. Equality is a notion that entirely individuals are equal and entitled to equal treatment under the law.Self-government is the principle that the pack are the ultimate source and proper beneficiary of governing body authority. These principles were the foundation for the United States set forth and written by our founding fathers, but taken from rulers and minds of Europeans during the Enlightenment period. The Enlightenment was an eighteenth- century intellectual movement whose proponents believed that human beings could apply a critica l, reasoning spirit to every problem (Hunt, Lynn, Martin & Rosenwein, page 545).During this period the rulers, writers, and thinkers gave the confirm bone to the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Although before we get to this period and how it shaped the United States we will have to go back a infinitesimal further to 1651. In 1651 an English philosopher Thomas Hobbes had his work Leviathan published. Hobbes argued that government rests on a social contract in which the people give up reliable freedoms they would have in a state of nature in return for the protection that a sovereign ruler give the sack provide.Almost a half of a century later, an English philosopher, John Locke, used Hobbes concept of social contract in his Second Treatise on Civil Government. Locke claimed that all individuals have certain untransferable rights, including those of life, liberty, and property. When people form a government for securing their safety, they retain these individual rights. However Locke saw the social contract a bit differently. The agreement to submit to governing authority is based on the premise that government will protect these rights, if the government fails to the people can overthrow the government and form a young one( Patterson, page 14-15, 30). Thomas Jefferson declared that Locke was one of the three greatest men that ever lived. Jefferson paraphrased Lockes ideas in passages of the Declaration of Independence. Including those that, all men are created equal, that government derive their just powers from the consent of the government, and that it is the right of the people to alter or abolish a tyrannical government. The Declaration was a call of revolution rather than a framework for government. However the ideas contained in the document liverty, equality, individual rights, self-government became the basis for the Constitution of the United States (Patterson, page 30). In Voltaires, Treatise on Toleration and Jean Jacques Rousseau, fond Contract we find more Enlightenment thinkers ideas framed in the Constitution. The ideas the Constitution receives from these works are the basis for Amendment I, freedom of religion.Voltaire states in A Treatise on Tolertion, righteousness was instituted to make us happy in this life and in the other. Christians should tolerate each other. I, up to now, am going further I say that we should regard all men as brothers, are we not all children of the same father and creatures of the same God? Voltaire is setting the basis for freedom of religion, saying that the people mustiness show Universal Tolerance for all. Rousseau takes it even further in The Social Contract. He states, it is of importance to the State that each citizen should have a religion requiring his devotion to duty, however the dogmas of that religion are of no interest to the State. Rousseau sets forth the idea that the government shall make no law respecting an est ablishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, as stated by the First Amendment of the Constitution. Finally Cesare Beccarria and Empress Catherine the Great both have an idea that resides in the Constitution. That idea is that all men are innocent until be guilty. In Beccarrias abhorrence and Punishment he states, No man can be judged a criminal until he be found guilty nor can society take from him the public protection until it have been proven that he has violated the conditions on which it was granted. Empress Catherine states in her Proposal for a New Legal mandate in Russia, No man ought to be looked upon as guilty, before he has received his judicial sentence nor can the Laws deprive him of their protection when it is yet dubious, whether he is Innocent or Guilty?. The United States is a nation established in 1776 on a set of principles liberty, equality, and self-government. These ideals derived in part from broad lessons of history, from the colonist, and treatises from the Enlightenment Period. Men and women from Voltaire, Jean Jacques Rousseau, Cesare Beccarria, and Empress Catherine the Great have given ideas that our founding fathers saw and deemed worthy to be put in the United States Constitution. Thomas Jefferson himself based more ideas in the Declaration of Independence from concepts written by John Locke that became the basis for the Constitution of the United States.Where would the United States be without these enlightened minds from Europe? Red wood trees, which are souls of forests, trap the most moisture in their advanced root systems. They are such big sponges for circulating water in biosphere. In addition, comb with water, sunlight and air, these three kinds of trees consume carbon dioxide and breath out oxygen through natural photosynthesis. How coarse they are While I was walking through the park, the wind blew moisture steam from leaves and then stayed and instilled my thirsty(p) skin. When it came to my turn, I put it on my palm, it moved slowly on my hands and used its largest pair of tentacles to detect light and movements. Then he spread other pair of tentacles straight out of his breathing holes to spy on everything. After checking the surroundings, it kept moving but started to produce slime which implied that it was threated to protect itself. In order to seek a survival exist, he never gave up moving.
